Body Literacy for Teens

5 days · 4 min/day · Mama Doctor Jones, OBGYN
Teen mode5 days

Cycle basics for ages 13 to 17.

Starting your period and figuring out your body for the first time can feel confusing, and a lot of the information out there is either too clinical or a little embarrassing to ask about. Body Literacy for Teens is a friendly, five-day introduction written in plain language, designed to answer the questions that actually come up without any awkwardness.

What you will learn

The course covers the essentials over five short days. What first periods are like and what counts as normal, how to handle cramps and flow and when something is worth mentioning to an adult, how the different period products work and how to use them, and why your mood can shift with your cycle in ways that are completely real. It finishes with how to talk to a doctor about period things, including the fact that you can ask to be seen on your own if you want to be.

Who it is for

This is for younger users, roughly ages 13 to 17, and there is no fertility content here, just clear, supportive basics. It is also a gentle starting point for a parent and teen to go through together. The aim is simple. To make the first years of having a cycle feel a lot less mysterious and a lot more manageable.
