MENSTRUAL PHASE RECIPE
Cozy iron-up beef stew
Menstrual phase
When you are bleeding, your body is letting go of iron, and a warm, slow-cooked stew is one of the most comforting ways to put some back. This one leans on iron-rich beef and the steady warmth your menstrual phase craves.
Why it works for this phase
Red meat delivers heme iron, the most easily absorbed form, which is exactly what your body is quietly asking for during your period. The sweet potato and carrots add steady complex carbohydrates, and a warm bowl is gentle on a tired system.
Ingredients
- 1 lb grass-fed beef chuck, cubed
- 2 cups beef bone broth
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 2 sweet potatoes, cubed
- 1 onion, diced
